What We Assess
We provide specialised, comprehensive OT assessments for people living with traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, catastrophic injury, and other neurological conditions. These assessments are conducted in your home and community settings to ensure that everyday environments are part of our evaluation. We focus on areas including:
- Safety, potential for improvement, and future goals
- Physical function: strength, mobility, upper limb control, motor planning
- Cognitive functions: memory, attention, problem-solving, planning & organisation
- Daily living: personal care, household tasks, community participation
- Environmental & equipment needs: seating, mobility aids, home modifications
How the Assessment Works
- Initial Consultation & History Gathering — We begin with your story: your injury or condition, health history, current supports, challenges, and what your goals are.
- Observation & Standardised Testing — We visit either your home or community setting, observe your daily tasks, administer appropriate standardised cognitive & physical measures, and evaluate how your environment supports or hinders you.
What You Get & What to Expect
- A tailored plan based on your unique strengths and needs, focused on meaningful goals.
- Clear guidance on assistive technology, home modifications or specialised equipment if needed.
- Cognitive supports: strategies and tools to help with planning, memory, organisation or managing daily tasks.
- An approach that is empathetic, respectful, and collaborative — you are at the centre of the process.
