Medico Legal Assessments and Reporting

Medico Legal Assessments & Reporting

Comprehensive assessment & reporting for minor and major personal injury claims

At Solve OT, we provide independent, evidence-based medico-legal assessments and reports to support litigation, insurance, and compensation claims. With extensive expertise in traumatic brain injury (TBI), spinal cord injury, catastrophic injury, and other neurological conditions, our assessments help courts, insurers, and legal professionals understand the impact of injury on a person's daily life, function, and long-term needs.

Fiona Goron has been providing expert medico-legal opinions since 2004 for adults who have sustained traumatic brain injuries, multi-trauma injuries, spinal cord injuries, and other catastrophic injuries as a result of motor vehicle accidents, workplace accidents, and medical negligence.

Who We Work With

  • Injured individuals and their families
  • Personal injury and compensation lawyers
  • Insurance companies and rehabilitation providers
  • Employers and workplace insurers

We have experience preparing reports for motor vehicle accidents, workplace accidents, medical negligence, and other complex injury claims across multiple compensation schemes.

What We Assess

Our assessments are conducted in the person's home and community to provide a clear picture of their functional abilities and support requirements. Areas of assessment may include:

  • Physical and functional capacity
  • Cognitive function, memory, planning, and problem-solving
  • Activities of daily living (ADL) and independence
  • Mobility, seating, and complex equipment needs (including custom solutions)
  • Environmental factors and safety considerations
  • Future support and rehabilitation needs

Our Process

  1. Referral & Documentation — We receive the brief, review medical records, and clarify the specific legal or clinical questions.
  2. Comprehensive Assessment — Conducted in the home and/or community, using interviews, observation, and standardised measures.
  3. Analysis & Recommendations — We evaluate functional abilities, equipment requirements, environmental barriers, and support needs.
  4. Report Preparation — A clear, objective, and detailed medico-legal report is prepared, answering referral questions and providing expert recommendations.
  5. Expert Opinion — If required, we are available for conferences, joint reports, or expert witness testimony.
